Happy New Year!

Acadia Community Gardeners - we received this lovely invite from Joanne of the Queensland Garden Club. Joanne did an awesome presentation for us in November on Winter Sowing.

"Just wanted to remind you that members of the Acadia Community Garden group are welcome to attend the Queensland Garden Club’s talk this Wednesday. The focus will be tips on growing Veggies in Calgary, Seed Starting and I will do a short demo on Winter Sowing. The first two topics will be covered by two other ladies in our club, so you guys wouldn’t have to listen to me again.

Our meetings start at Wed, January 8 at 7 pm at the Queensland Community Center, 649 Queensland Drive S.E."

Its free to attend our first meeting free and we are welcome to join for $10.00 annual fee.

Thank you to the Queensland Garden Club for this generous invitation!

Acadia Community Garden Monthly get together - Winter Sowing with Joanne Nemeth Calgary Coop Community Room 7-8:30 November 20, 2013

Imagine being able to start seeds outdoors in the dead of winter, without grow lights, heat mats or fans. Sounds impossible, right? But it isn’t!

Join Joanne Nemeth on Wednesday, November 20th and she will show you how to start annuals, perennials and even trees and shrubs without all the usual fuss of indoor seed starting. And come spring, you’ll have lots of hardy little plants for a fraction of the cost at a nursery.

All welcome!
